Not Your Average Joe's Opens in Peabody

PEABODY, MA – The new Not Your Average Joe's has opened in the Northshore Mall: Just in time for the fall menu.

The restaurant closed its longtime Beverly location on Enon Street last month, and opened the Peabody spot on Andover Street on Monday. According to a Joe's blog post, the new restaurant seats 200, and the patio – which seats 80 – will open next spring.

Mayor Ted Bettencourt, Councilor-at-large Tom Gould, City Business Liaison Julie Daigle, and Peabody Chamber of Commerce Board Member Lauren Dalis attended the ribbon cutting on Monday. As with every Not Your Average Joe's opening, the restaurant partnered with a local nonprofit to hold fundraising events before it officially opened its doors.

The Peabody restaurant and the Frates ALS Research and Support Fund held pre-opening events on Oct. 7 and 8, where guests were encouraged to donate to the charity in place of paying the bill. Not Your Average Joe's CEO and Founder Stephen Silverstein was able to present a $12,000 check from the events to Nancy and John Frates to support the organization.

The Frates ALS Research and Support Fund was created by Pete Frates and the Frates family, along with the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, to raise awareness of ALS and assist in discovering a treatment and cure.

Bruce Jangro will serve as the general manager, and Heriberto Martinez as head chef of the Peabody Not Your Average Joe's. The bar will have 20 beers on tap, including selections from Ipswich Ale and Notch Brewing. The restaurant will be open Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.; and Sunday, 12 to 9 p.m. Their Happy Hour, when some apps are half-priced, will run Monday through Friday, 3 to 6 p.m.
