Notes From the Peabody Police Logs
Displeased moms, false checks, and cabs from Boston to Peabody.

- On Thursday, Citizens Bank on Howley Street called police to report a man trying to cash a fraudulent check. Around 2:30 p.m., police arrested Corey R. Greenwood, 30, of Lawrence, and Luis Chavez, 43, of Florida, both on charges of check forgery, uttering a false check, and theft by check over $250.
- Someone called police on Thursday around 3:30 p.m. when they saw a young man jump out of a moving car on Lake Street, and his displeased mother in hot pursuit. Officers found that the pair got back in the car and left.
- Officers retrieved what was reported to be a BB gun by the woods in Emerson Park around 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Police report it was actually a plastic toy gun.

- Officers arrested Naeem F. Khan, 44, of Salem, on charges of driving without a license, failing to stop at a stop sign, and another department's warrant after a traffic stop on Friday around 1 a.m. on Andover Street.
- A man refused to pay the $47 bill for a taxi from Boston to the Marriott Hotel on Centennial Drive around 3 a.m. on Friday.
