Peabody Man Arrested On Heroin Trafficking Charges

After residents reported suspected drug transactions on a street in Peabody, police have arrested a suspect.

PEABODY, MA – After residents in the neighborhood of Dooling Circle complained of possible drug activity, police have arrested a suspect.

Claire Rolbi Marte-Saint, 31, of Peabody, was arrested on charges of trafficking in heroin, conspiracy to violate drug laws, and furnishing a false name to police on May 5 around 11 a.m.

Marte-Saint was arrested after Peabody Police officers, detectives, and Mass. State Police troopers witnessed a drug transaction around Dooling Circle, and stopped the car. During the booking process, Marte-Saint was found to have cash, and 25 individual twist packages of what police believed to be heroin.

Involved in the investigation and arrest was Captain Scott Wlasuk, Officer Sean Dowd, Detectives DJ Murphy and Eric Ricci, Officers Kristen Mavroules, Daniel Jenkins, Javier Sanchez, Sgt. Robert Faletra and members of the Massachusetts State Police.

Chief Tom Griffin cited the assistance of neighborhood residents and the cooperative efforts of the Peabody Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police as essential in diligently addressing the ongoing heroin crisis that is affecting so many communities in Massachusetts and across the country.

Marte-Saint was scheduled to be arraigned on Monday.
