Peabody Memorial Day Weekend Events Schedule
The City of Peabody is holding events from Friday to Monday in honor of Memorial Day.

PEABODY, MA – The City of Peabody, the Peabody Veterans Department, and the VFW Post 1011 will hold a series of events in honor of Memorial Day. Here is the schedule, as posted on the city website.
Friday, May 26, 9 a.m.: Flagging of Veterans Graves. Meet at the flag pole in Cedar Grove Cemetery (off Lynn Street in South Peabody). Wear comfortable clothing.
Sunday, May 28, 8 a.m.: Memorial Day Mass at St. Adelaide’s Church. Meet at the Church (708 Lowell St., West Peabody).

Bring 2-Flags and 2-stands. Place flag stands in the sanctuary, on the right and left side of the alter. City veterans will carry the flags and march into the church prior to the start of 8:30 a.m. Mass, and place your flags in the stands.
After Mass: Memorial Services held at School Department building (the old Kiley Brothers School), Oak Grove Cemetery, and the Civil War Monument in Peabody Square. Each service will

include a rifle salute and taps.
Monday, May 29, 8:30 a.m.: VFW bus will leave for services at Cedar Grove Cemetery (Pumping Station Rd) where we will be
forming up to march into the cemetery for services at Veterans Memorial Park.
PAWV bus will leave for services at Cedar Grove Cemetery where we will be forming up to march into the cemetery for services at Veterans Memorial Park.
9 a.m.: Form on Cedar Grove Ave and Pumping Station Rd (near cemetery entrance) to march into Cedar Grove Cemetery for 9:30 a.m. Memorial Service at Veterans Memorial Park. The Commander of each organization will read the names of their departed members for the past year.
10:30 a.m.: Assemble for the Parade. Form-up for the Parade at Washington Street and Allen’s Lane, Hingston Street, and Hourihan Street
11 a.m.: Parade steps-off and marches to City Hall. At the conclusion of the parade, there will be a ceremony in front of the WWI, WWII, Korean and Vietnam Monuments to honor those veterans who have made the supreme sacrifice.
At the conclusion of the Ceremony at City Hall, there will be a collation at the VFW, PAWV and the JWV.
