Peabody Specialty Meat, Cheese Market Closing After 7 Decades
Owners of Karl's Sausage Kitchen and European Market, which opened in 1958, announced the closure on Wednesday.
PEABODY, MA — A mainstay specialty meats and cheeses market in Peabody is closing its doors after nearly seven decades in operation.
Owners of Karl's Sausage Kitchen and European Market said on its social media page on Wednesday that the market, which opened 67 years ago, will shutter its Bourbon Street location in the coming weeks.
"Since 1958, Karl's Sausage Kitchen has been much more than just a sausage kitchen — it has been a space where friendships blossomed, memories were created, and generations of families gathered around shared meals," the owners posted. "We have been honored to be part of your lives and celebrations, and your support has been the cornerstone of our success.
