Peabody Student Earns Top National Art Award
Nathan Cioffi will be headed to Carnegie Hall in June to receive the Scholastic Arts National Gold Medal.
Peabody, MA - Nathan Cioffi is officially one of the most creative high school students in the country.
Cioffi, a senior Advanced Placement Visual Arts student at PVMHS was recently honored as part of the 2016 Scholastic Arts Awards,
His Gold Key winning photograph, Industrial Rebirth, was awarded a 2016 Scholastic Arts National Gold Medal. Cioffi will be presented with his award at Carnegie Hall in New York City on June 2.

This year, nearly 320,000 works were submitted by creative teens from across the country and around the world. Nearly 18,000 Gold Key works qualified for national judging. Only 2,400 National Medals were awarded.
Since the program’s founding in 1923, the Awards have fostered the creativity and talent of millions of students, including renowned alumni who have gone on to become leaders in their fields, including Andy Warhol, Truman Capote, Richard Avedon, Philip Pearlstein, and Sylvia Plath. More recently, Stephen King, Richard Linklater, Zac Posen, and Lena Dunham received Scholastic Art & Writing Awards when they were teens.
