Peabody Veteran to be Honored at College Hockey Game

Lt. Commander Robert Dunne, currently serving in Djibouti, will be honored at his daughter's college on Saturday.

NORTH ANDOVER, MA – Navy Reserve Lt. Commander Robert Dunne of Peabody will be recognized in a ceremony at Merrimack College during Saturday's hockey game against Cornell.

Dunne's daughter Sarah is a junior at Merrimack, and will sing the national anthem at the game. Dunne is a graduate of the Naval War College, and has served on active duty in Afghanistan and Iraq. He is currently with the Combined Joint Task Force, Horn of Africa, based in Djibouti.

Dunne holds the Defense Meritorious Service Award, Navy Commendation Medal, and Iraq and Afghan campaign medals, and is the chair of the Peabody Veterans Council (the council has an acting chair while Dunne is deployed).
