Peabody's Atomic Roasters Delivers 'Loud Pow' To Elevate Youth Project

The coffee roaster will donate $2 from each specialty brew sale to the local nonprofit that empowers youth through outdoor exploration.

PEABODY, MA — Peabody-based coffee company Atomic Coffee Roasters is partnering with local nonprofit Elevate Youth to help fund the organization's efforts to empower young people on the North Shore through outdoor exploration and mentorships through its new "Loud Pow" blend.

Atomic Coffee Roasters said $2 from each sale of "Loud Pow" will go toward the partnership.

"Loud Pow" stems from a joke among East Coast skiers referring to the sound of skis sliding over extremely hard ice, which is not uncommon in these parts.

Atomic Roasters describes the brew as a special blend of coffees sourced from Honduras, Costa Rica, and Nicaragua for a medium roast that "boasts a delightful mild citrus acidity complemented by inviting notes of toffee and chocolate."

"Loud Pow has become one of our favorite collaborations of the year," said Spencer Mahoney, VP of Operations at Atomic Coffee Roasters. "Growing up snowboarding and skateboarding, their mission really resonates with me, and I love the programs they’re able to offer kids that may not otherwise be exposed to these types of activities."

This winter, Elevate Youth is partnering with Wachusett Mountain and Weston Ski Track to offer 12 downhill and Nordic ski trips. These trips are designed to introduce young participants to the world of skiing, providing all necessary gear, rentals, and expert instruction at no cost.

Some of the attendees are stepping into skis for the first time while others are returning for a third or fourth outing.

"Loud Pow" will be available for purchase on Atomic's website and at select cafes and markets throughout New England this winter.
