Fire at Recycling Facility on Newbury Street
A small trash fire at 109 Newbury Street was knocked down shortly after 5 p.m.

Peabody, MA - There are reports of a smoldering trash fire at Greenworks Recycling at 109 Newbury Street in Peabody shortly before 5 p.m. on Thursday.
According to reports, sprinklers helped keep the fire at bay.
There have been no injuries, according to the Peabody police and fire scanner reports.

As of 5:05 p.m., reports on the fire scanner described it as a smoldering trash fire in one of the chutes. Firefighters had two lines in and were handling the incident with a pump and a ladder truck at the scene.
By 5:10 p.m., the fire had been knocked down and crews were overhauling the scene.
