Sled Hockey Returns to Peabody

Peabody, MA - Sled hockey returns to Peabody on Saturday, March 26.

A team of Peabody All Stars will be taking on the Northeast Passage Sled Hockey team at the McVann-O'Keefe Skating Rink on Saturday. The doors to the rink open at 5 p.m., and the game starts at 6 p.m.

The event is free, but donations will be collected and there will be raffles held to benefit the Northeast Sled Hockey League, of which the Northeast Passage team is a member.

The NESHL is a non-profit organization established in 2005 as a means for regional sled hockey teams to engage in competitive, sportsmanlike hockey. It is the first organized, multi-state, adult sled hockey league in the United States with teams and athletes coming from Maine to Maryland.

The season kicks off in September continuing through March of the following year. At all its events, the organization continuously looks to solicit new players and to further the awareness of sled hockey and people with disabilities.

There will also be food, a chuck a puck, and a free skate after the game in Peabody on Saturday, so remember to bring your skates.
