Reading Postmark Fire Draws Regional Response
Crews from Reading, North Reading, Lynnfield, Wakefield, Stoneham and Burlington all joined the response to a fire in the Postmark condos.
READING, MA — A fire drew crews from multiple area fire departments to the corner of Sanborn Road and Haven Street in Reading on Monday, burning part of the Postmark condominium development in the area.
The fire broke out before 2 p.m., prompting the Reading Fire Department to warn motorists to avoid the area soon after that point.
By 3:30 p.m., crews had largely beat back the flames, with residents set to be invited back into the building soon, according to an update from the town of Reading.

Videos shared on social media showed crews initially battling the fire as smoke poured from part of the Postmark building, which is a 50-unit mixed-use condo complex with ground floor retail space.
Parts of Sanborn Road and Haven Street were closed as of 2 p.m. while crews responded.

Reading drew mutual aid on Monday from fire departments in North Reading, Lynnfield, Wakefield, Stoneham and Burlington, according to the town's 3:30 p.m. update.
The state fire marshal's office also responded to the scene.
A reunification space had been set up at the nearby Reading Co-op Bank as of Monday afternoon while residents waited to head back inside.
