Fire on Route 93 in Reading Out

Firefighters worked on the scene for over an hour.

There were Monday afternoon in various towns including Reading, Medford, Stoneham, Woburn and Wilmington. The fire in Reading, between Route 128 and the Commerce Way exit on Route 93 is finally out.  

According to the , firefighters were on scene for an hour and 15 minutes.  The fires in each town were spread out, but each spot was about 50X100 feet. Putting the flames out was a combined effort of Reading, Wilmington and Woburn Fire Departments. It took three engines and two ladder trucks to extinguish the blaze.

Firefighters are unable to determine cause, however, it is assumed that the dry conditions allowed the fire to grow at a faster rate than normal.
