1. Weather. The temperature will reach 45 degrees today with a low of 30. Expect partly cloudy skies.  

2. The upside of fear. Popular science writer and daredevil Jeff Wise explains the neuroscience of fear at the Reading Public Library at 7 p.m.

3. North Reading SSBC. The SSBC will meet at North Reading High School at 6:30 p.m.

5. Job opening. The Reading Police Department is looking for a Public Safety Dispatcher. The job pays $18.26 per hour and applicants should have a high school diploma or GED equivalent, excellent communication skills, computer skills, and the ability to multi-task in a busy environment.
