Further Main Street Closures Planned In Reading

Overnight closures will be in place next week for the $5.6 million resurfacing and improvement project on Route 28.

READING, MA — MassDOT will implement temporary overnight lane closures on Route 28 South – Reading's Main Street – from Salem to Forest Street next week.

Closures are scheduled from 8 p.m. on Monday, June 14 to 5 a.m. on Tuesday, June 15. A minimum of one travel lane in each direction will be maintained at all times.

The work is part of the $5.6 million resurfacing and improvement project along Route 28. Signs, law enforcement details and messaging will be in place, but drivers should use caution when traveling through the area.
