TEWKSBURY-- An Everett woman is returning to Lawrence District Court on Oct. 11 in connection with a disturbing incident involving psychedelic drugs and biting flesh.Amanda Norcia is being charged with trespassing and possession of a class A substance -- heroin, and will be returning to Lawrence District Court on Oct. 11.But the more serious charges are connected with the woman's boyfriend who, in addition to resisting arrest, had allegedly bit Norcia in the face while they were on LSD in a wooded conservation area in Andover on Aug. 9. Brendan Gibson, 24, of North Andover, is facing assault and battery on a household member, resisting arrest, trespassing, and possession of a class A substance, heroin.

: WILMINGTON-- A Wilmington man was arrested after a woman suffered a drug overdose outside of a King Street home on Tuesday afternoon.

Police Lt. Joe Desmond said a call came in at 3:33 p.m. on Tuesday from 29A King Street for a suspected overdose. When officers arrived they found a young female on the ground in front of the house who was, according to Desmond, responsive but “not doing well.”

Joshua Kivlehan, 18, of 29A King Street, was arrested at the scene and charged with possession of Class A drugs for allegedly having heroin at the home. The female was only given a civil citation because there was a small amount of marijuana in her vehicle. She was transported to a local hospital.

: STONEHAM--Stoneham taxpayers will get some relief when it comes time to paying their trash fee after the Board of Selectmen recently voted in favor of a 10 percent reduction.

Selectmen Robert Sweeney spearheaded the effort to get the trash fee reduced for all taxpaying property owners in town. The Selectmen voted unanimously (5-0) for the trash fee reduction.

"I believe that everyone in town paying taxes should get a fair break," Sweeney said. "I don’t see how we can give one segment a discount and not the other."

The discount will be $24 for homeowners, $15 for condominium owners and $14 for seniors who qualify for an abatement through the assessor's office.
