North Reading Resident Arrested After Crashing Car Into Houses on Park Street

After crashing his vehicle into two houses on Park Street in North Reading, Daniel Kaepplinger, 22, of 9 Fieldstone Way, North Reading was arrested for operating under the influence and failure to stay in marked lanes.

Several emergency callers reported the accident at 12:20 a.m. Wednesday. Kaepplinger was alone in the vehicle as he drove east on Route 62 and crossed over into the west bound lane, according to . He was traveling at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the vehicle, drove over the sidewalk and hit 140 Park St. The vehicle continued through the side yard and then hit 136 Park St.

The front porch and support beams at 140 Park St. were damaged as well as the porch at 136 Park St. 

The operator was not injured. He was arrested on the scene.
