On Monday, January 30, the American Library Association Youth Media Awards (ALA YMAs) were announced. This is the day we find out what won such prestigious awards as the Caldecott, Newbery, and Coretta Scott King. Did you know that this year, two of your children’s librarians had the honor of helping to decide what books would be recognized? Librarian Olivia McElwain served on the Notable Children’s Books Committee, and Librarian Ashley Waring served on the Robert F. Sibert Informational Book Award Committee.
