Reading Schools Move Toward Next Part Of Phased-In Process

The district expects to move grades 6, 7 and 8 to a hybrid learning model by mid-October.

READING, MA — The Reading Public Schools is moving forward with the next part of its phased-in process, Superintendent John Doherty said in his latest update. The district plans to move grades 6, 7 and 8 to a hybrid learning model on Tuesday, Oct. 13, a Cohort B in-person week.

The RPS is also working on phasing in Grade 1, followed by Grade 2, and hopes to have those grades in hybrid learning in the next few weeks. The district is finalizing a few staffing areas to make that switch, Doherty said.

Families should expect to receive communication from heads of school in the coming weeks.
