Reading Town Election 2022: Who Has Pulled Papers So Far?

Reading's town election will be held April 5, and some prospective candidates have already thrown their hat in the ring for office.

READING, MA — Reading's annual town election will be held April 5, and some residents have already thrown their hat in the ring for local office.

Town Clerk Laura Gemme released an updated list this week of potential candidates who have pulled nomination papers.

Select Board member Mark Dockser is running for re-election, while newcomers Nancy Tawadros, of Libby Avenue, and Jacqueline McCarthy, of Beacon Street, are seeking three-year terms on the board.

Tawadros returned her papers for certification Dec. 27.

School Committee chair Thomas Wise is seeking re-election to a three-year term, and Ridge Road resident Geoffrey Coram, who ran in 2021 and previously served as an interim committee member, is running for school committee as well.

Other incumbents seeking re-election include Board of Library Trustees member Cherrie Dubois, Moderator Alan Foulds and Municipal Light Board members Philip Pacino and David Talbot.

Prospective candidates have until Feb. 13 to pull nomination papers and Feb. 15 to return 50 signatures for certification.
