Reading's Whitelam Books Hosting Kids Activities During April Vacation

Events this week will celebrate the Kitty-Corn series and the Judy Moody series, and there will be Story and Movement Time with Daisy.

READING, MA — Whitelam Books is hosting multiple events this week for kids enjoying their April School Vacation Week.

From 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday at Whitelam Books, located at 610 Main St. in Reading, there will be a celebration of the book "Party-Hearty Kitty-Corn," by Shannon Hale.

The book is the newest in the popular Kitty-Corn series and is a tale of friendship, fun and one very mischievous puppy.

The event will feature live readings of "Party-Hearty Kitty-Corn" at 3 p.m. and 4 p.m., and unicorn activities and games.

At 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, the weekly Story and Movement Time with Daisy will feature read-aloud picture books followed by activities to get the little ones moving, according to organizers.

From 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Whitelam will celebrate Judy Moody Day. The Judy Moody series is a popular early chapter book for young readers.

"(Wednesday) is the day to celebrate everyone's favorite third-grader, Judy Moody," Whitelam said in a statement. "

The celebration will include live read-alouds of the first chapter of a Judy Moody book at 3 p.m. and 4 p.m., in addition to Judy Moody-inspired drawing and word game activities.
