Resident Arrested for Breaking and Entering With Intent To Commit a Felony, Other Charges in Reading

The following is an excerpt from the  log from Friday through Sunday. The information is open to the public.

Arrests

At 9:50 p.m. Saturday, as the result of a motor vehicle stop, Juan Garay, 29, of 93 Maverick St., Chelsea was arrested on a warrant and for operating a motor vehicle with a revoked registration, operating an unregistered vehicle, operating an uninsured vehicle and unlicensed operation.

At 12:55 a.m. Sunday, James W. Coleman, 27, of 1 Summit Dr. was arrested on an outstanding warrant and for assault and battery and giving a false name after an arrest.

At 2:54 a.m., a Main Street resident reported a male screaming and banging things in the hallway. As a result of the call and police investigation John Tawadros, 40, of 31 Libby Ave. was arrested for breaking and entering with the intent to commit a felony, two counts of malicious destruction, trespassing, disorderly person, disturbing the peace, malicious mischief on a Sunday.

Friday, Aug. 3

  • At 8:18 a.m., a Johnson Woods Drive resident reported that his motor vehicle was stolen overnight.
  • At 9:37 a.m., a trash truck driver reported that he was being harassed by a homeowner on Applegate Lane.
  • At 12:57 p.m., a caller reported a car accident on General Way. No injuries were reported.
  • At 4:05 p.m., a caller reported that his ATM card was used without his permission.
  • At 8:10 p.m., as the result of a motor vehicle stop, a resident was given a bylaw violation for possession of under one ounce of marijuana.
  • At 10:34 p.m., a caller reported being threatened over the phone.

Saturday, Aug. 4

  • At 2:39 p.m., a caller reported a male taking his pants off on Main Street.
  • At 9:42 p.m., a caller reported youths gathering in the parking lot and refusing to leave.
  • At 11:31 p.m., a caller reported that youths were ringing doorbells on Haven Street and then running away.

Sunday, Aug. 5

  • At 12:05 a.m., a caller reported that his car was hit by an egg on Summer Avenue.
  • At 12:24 p.m., a caller reported that his car was hit on Main Street. The other driver sped away.
