Two Arrested for Drugs in North Reading

The following information was supplied by the North Reading police department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

The following is a look at some of the calls handled by the  from Friday through Sunday. The information is open to the public.

Arrests

At 2:49 p.m. Saturday on Greene Street, Christian A. Giangrande, 22, of 29 Pleasant St. was arrested on an outstanding warrant for a probation violation and on charges of possession of a class A drug (Heroin) and Justin D. Pelletier, 21, of 34 Linwood Ave. was arrested on charges of possession of a class A drug (Heroin).

Friday, Aug. 10

  • At  8:35 a.m., a Pleasant Street resident reported that someone drilled a hole in the gas tank of her husband's car.
  • At 12:03 p.m., a Greenbriar Drive resident reported that someone drilled a hole in his gas tank.
  • At 2:52 p.m., a caller reported a car accident on North Street. No injuries were reported.
  • At 9:19 p.m., a caller reported that a van dropped three youths off near the woods and that they were carrying beer. Police checked the woods, but did not find anything.

Saturday, Aug. 11

  • At 1:45 a.m., a Parkview Terrace resident reported a noise complaint on his street. Police spoke with the youths making the noise and made sure that each youth was in the custody of an adult.
  • At 1:56 p.m., a caller reported car alarms going off and a party on Southwick Road. Police spoke to the homeowner who agreed to quiet down the party for the night.
  • At 10:19 a.m., a caller reported fraudulent activity on her credit card.
  • At 10:40 a.m., a caller reported adult magazines out in the open at a Washington Street business. The store manager moved them out of view.
  • At 12:35 p.m., an officer reported hearing what he thought were two M-80's go off near Bow Street. After searching the area, he was unable to find anything.
  • At 5:18 p.m., a caller reported an erratic operator on Main Street. Police located the vehicle and observed the driver for several miles, but did not see any erratic operation.
  • At 7:50 p.m., a caller reported a minor car accident on Main Street. 
  • At 8:07 p.m., a Crestwood Road resident reported possibly hearing a gun shot. Police searched the area, but did not find anything.
  • At 9:01 p.m., a resident reported that his car was stolen from Boston and he had his garage door opener and keys in the vehicle.

Sunday, Aug. 12

  • At 4:06 a.m., a resident reported that his son's vehicle was stolen in Boston.
  • At 10:13 p.m., a caller reported that a subject exited a vehicle and rang his doorbell, then left the area.
