2 Lowell Men Summonsed for Misdemeanor Breaking and Entering in North Reading

The following is a look at some of the calls handled by the  from Monday through Tuesday. The information is open to the public.

Monday, Aug. 20

• At 8:19 a.m., a Comeau Road resident reported that her mailbox was damaged.
• At 12:10 p.m., a Crestwood Road resident reported hearing a gun shot. Police checked the area, but did not find anything. 
• At 12:30 p.m., a Burroughs Road resident reported that a juvenile was carrying something that looked like a rifle case. Police checked the area, but did not find anyone with that description.
• At 2:44 p.m., an unknown caller reported kids riding scooters in the road near Shady Hill Drive. Police spoke to the father of the children about safety issues.
• At 5:00 p.m., a caller reported that the baseball state championship sign was taken from Concord Street.
• At 5:44 p.m., a caller reported that a group of youths were giving her and her husband a hard time during a basketball clinic at .

Tuesday, Aug. 21

• At 12:10 a.m., a caller reported a small fire on Haverhill Street. A small box of fireworks caught on fire, but was quickly extinguished.
• At 11:43 a.m., a Strawberry Lane resident reported activity at an abandoned house on his street. As a result of the call, a 26-year-old Lowell man and a 32-year-old Lowell man were summonsed on charges of misdemeanor breaking and entering. 
• At 8:42 p.m., a caller reported someone possibly entering her vacant home. She received an email from her realtor who said it looked like there had been activity in the house. Police checked the perimeter of the house and there were no apparent signs of entry.
