Wakefield Resident Arrested For OUI, Drugs

The following is an excerpt from the Reading Police Department log from Thursday at noon through Monday. The information is open to the public.
Arrests
At 6:38 p.m. Friday, a caller reported a car accident on Salem Street. As a result of the accident, Kevin Carter, 51, of 42A Pleasant St., Wakefield was arrested on charges of operating under the influence of alcohol, third offense; following too close; and possession of under one ounce of a class D substance.

Thursday, February 14
- At 4:48 p.m., a caller reported youths gathering on Bolton Street and throwing snowballs at passing vehicles. The youths denied throwing snow. One of the parents picked up the youths and was notified of the complaint.
- At 6:51 p.m., a resident walked into the police station and reported being threatened at East Coast Gas. The resident said that he asked another patron at the gas station to turn off his vehicle because of the smell of the fumes. The patron then allegedly threatened the resident. The patron was operating a vehicle that belonged to a local tree company. An officer advised the company of the complaint.

- At 1:11 p.m., a caller reported a car accident on Haverhill Street. No injuries were reported.
- At 6:41 p.m., a caller reported a car accident on Woburn Street. No injuries were reported.
- At 8:34 p.m., a caller reported youths throwing snowballs at the YMCA. The parents of the youths were notified and picked up the kids.
- At 9:41 p.m., a caller reported being pushed by a male on Springvale Road.
Saturday, February 16
- At 3:26 a.m., a caller reported a car accident on Smith Avenue. No injuries were reported.
- At 8:35 a.m., a caller reported that an employee of Burger King shattered the front door to the fast food restaurant.
- At 8:55 a.m., a caller reported that her business, Healthy Changes on Woburn Street, was broken into and ransacked overnight. Nothing appeared to be missing. Detectives are investigating.
- At 10:08 p.m., a caller reported that her vehicle's drivers side front and rear windows were smashed while parked on Walkers Brook Drive. Two bags were taken from the vehicle.
- At 11:51 p.m., a caller reported a car accident on Ashley Place. No injuries were reported.
Sunday, February 17
- At 12:40 p.m., a caller reported a car accident on Birch Meadow Drive. No injuries were reported.
- At 1:41 p.m., a caller reported a car accident on Colburn Road. The accident was minor.
Monday, February 18
- At 2:30 p.m., a caller reported youths skateboarding on Washington Street. Police spoke to the youths and sent them on their way.
- At 7:29 p.m., a caller reported a car accident on Main Street. No injuries were reported.
- At 8:27 p.m., a caller reported youths gathering on the roof of a building on Haven Street. Police found only one youth and told him that he was not allowed to be there.
