The Town of Reading announced updates to the West Street road improvements project. Beginning during the week of July 6, drainage will be installed and work will be done to transfer cables to utility poles, the town said. Construction crews will continue to install drainage on West Street, from King Street heading towards Woburn Street. Work installing drainage catch basins on West Street in the vicinity of Summer Avenue and Arcadia Avenue will also be performed, the town said. Additionally, utility crews will work to continue transferring cables to the relocated utility poles. During the construction, motorists are advised to follow posted detours. The detour utilizing Summer Avenue and Woburn Street has been in effect since the start of construction. This detour will remain in effect until further notice.
