Hydrant Test Near Salem Hospital Could Cause Disruption, Discoloration on Thursday Night
A hydrant flow test is scheduled for Thursday evening at a Highland Avenue address.

A hydrant flow test at Salem Hospital on Thursday evening may cut water service or discolor water for some residents and businesses in the area.
An announcement from city officials said the test is scheduled for 10 p.m. at North Shore Medical Center, 81 Highland Ave.
“You may experience a loss of water or some discoloration during this time,” said a public notice issued on Tuesday. “Do not turn your hot water on.”

To clear any discoloration, water users should run cold water until it is clear. Laundry should also not be done during the hydrant flow test. Anyone with questions can call Salem DPW at 978-744-3302.
