Obituary: Alicia J. Ryan, 45, Mother of Three

Alicia J. (Orlando) Ryan, 45, of Salem died on Friday.

Alicia J. (Orlando) Ryan, 45, of Salem, beloved wife of Frederick Ryan, passed away on Friday, Aug. 8, 2014 at Salem Hospital following a long illness surrounded by her family.

Born in Salem on July 3, 1969, she was the daughter of Salvatore Orlando and the late Diana (Giardi) Orlando. She was raised and educated in Salem and was a graduate of Salem High School, class of 1987. She continued her education attending Burdett College, Salem State College, North Shore Community College and Fisher College where she received degrees in Accounting and Medical Coding. She married her beloved husband Frederick on Sept. 8, 1990 at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Salem.

Mrs. Ryan was a hard working woman, having been associated with TLA Lighting, Salem Hospital, Beverly Hospital, Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation Center in Salem, St. Jean’s Credit Union in Lynn and American Renal. As hard of a worker as Alicia was she was an even more committed wife and mother always providing loving care and support to her husband, children, parents, brother and extended family. Her family and friends were of the utmost importance to her life. She will be deeply missed and always remembered.

Alicia is survived by her loving husband Frederick Ryan, her children, MacKenzie Ryan, Devyn Ryan and Mitchell Ryan, her father Salvatore Orlando, her brother, Salvatore Orlando Jr. and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and extended family and friends. She also leaves behind her beloved English Labs, Duke, Daisy and Madison.

Her funeral will be held from The O’Donnell Funeral Home, 46 Washington Sq., (at Salem Common) Salem, Thursday, Aug. 14, at 9 a.m. followed by her funeral Mass in St. James Church, Federal St., Salem at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends invited. Burial is private. Visiting hours Wednesday Aug. 13 from 3-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Alicia’s memory to the Northeast Animal Shelter, 347 Highland, Ave., Salem, MA 01970.
