Salem Men Caught With Crack Cocaine, Three Pounds Of Marijuana

SALEM, MA —Two men from Salem are facing drug charges after being caught with more than six grams of crack cocaine and three pounds of marijuana in New York.

Jose Romero, 25, and Anthony Pena, 21, both of Salem, were arrested by New York State Police after a traffic stop for speeding on Interstate 88 in Cobleskill, NY. They were charged with the Class C Felony of Criminal Possession of a Narcotic Drug 4th and the Class D Felony of Criminal Possession of Marijuana 2nd. Pena was also charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th (C Felony).

The men also had "numerous packages of Marijuana edibles," New York State Police said in a news release. The men were released following their arraignment. They are due back in court on June 16.
