Sewerage Plant Issue Causing Strong Odor
An issue at the sewerage plant on Fort Avenue in Salem was causing a strong odor in the area on Tuesday.
The strong odor in some parts of Salem on Tuesday was coming from “a processing issue” at the South Essex Sewerage District plant on Fort Avenue, according to an announcement from Salem city officials.
“SESD engineers and city officials are on site working to correct the problem,” said the city announcement. “We will continue to provide updates as they become available.”
