Urban Areas, Small Steams Prone to Flooding Sunday Night

An urban and small stream flood advisory was put in effect on Sunday evening for the North Shore, including Salem.

The National Weather Service issued the advisory just after 9 p.m., running until 11:15 p.m.

The weather service said radar was showing that heavy rain will cause minor urban and small stream flooding that will include poor drainage area overflowing.

Drivers were reminded by the weather service to not drive through flooded areas.
