Sharon resident Jean Zaniewski competed in the 2013 Ironman North American Championship at Mont-Tremblant in Quebec, Canada, according to the organization's website.
Zaniewski placed 12th in her division in a race that a 2.4-mile swim course, a 112-mile, two-loop bike course, and a 26.2-mile, two-loop run course.
Her swim time was 1:33:34, her bike time was 6:41:56, and her run time was 5:50:24, for a total of 14:22:32. Athletes have 17 hours to complete the race.
