
1. Music in the parks: The Tito Puente Latin Music Series starts in July, and the multi-week outdoor events come early and often to the South End. Dates include:
- Homenaje a la Salsa at O'Day Park on July 5
- Boston Landmarks Orchestra at Blackstone Park on July 19
- Combo Sabroso at Sheehy Park on Aug. 2
- Mikael Ringquist, Marcus Santos, and Bloco AfroBrazil at O'Day Park on Aug. 9
2. In case you missed it: The plan to was back in fron of the Boston Redevelopment Authority this week. The funding is in place for the controversial tear-down and replacement of the space, despit neighbor and member opposition to the move.
3. Derrick Adams: The World According to Derrick: Come see this collection of sculptures and photographs that incorporate sound projection and interactive elements Mills Gallery a the Boston Center for the Arts. This event is geared toward college students, adults and seniors.

4. Relay For Life: is being held at the Joe Moakley Park at 7:00 p.m. Come celebrate the lives of those who have survived cancer, remember lost loved ones and take a stand against the disease. This event takes place at 100 William J Day Blvd, Boston, MA
5. Bloomsday Celebration: Calling all James Joyce fans! Today is ! Bloomsday is an Irish cultural event of music and drama to celebrate the work of James Joyce. At the Irish International Immigrant Center, 100 Franklin Street, Boston, MA. Suggested donation is $25.00.
