Another Alleged Bike Thief Arrested

Suspect reportedly rode away on unlocked bike.

A second bicycle theft in the South End resulted in an arrest on Sunday after police charged a Roslindale man with stealing an unlocked vehicle from a bike rack outside Boston Medical Center.

Security personnel monitoring surveillance camera footage in the area alerted police to Brian Murray’s suspicious behavior shortly before 10 a.m. on Sunday. According to a report, Murray took a silver and green Nitro bike from the rack at 850 Harrison Avenue and began riding away. He was apprehended just 75 feet away and immediately told police “I know this is not my bike but I have a bike just like it,” according to the report.

The bicycle was valued at around $250.
