Five Things: Blackstone/Franklin Square Friends to Discuss Dogs in the Parks
Anyone with an interest in the topic is invited to join the committee.

Today is Tuesday, October 4. Here are five things you need to know:
1. Repeat: Expect a cloudy, rainy morning with a chance of showers in the afternoon as well. Highs in the mid 60s.
2. The Friends of Blackstone/Franklin Squares Dog Committee will be meeting for the first time this Wednesday, October 5 at 7 p.m. Discussion about dogs in the parks will be kept to an hour. To join the committee and participate in the conversation, email David at dwisholek@hotmail.com. UPDATE: due to large response, the meeting has been moved to the D4 Police Station Community Room.

3. Today's the last day to submit name suggestions for the Franklin Park Zoo's baby red pandas. The cubs were born over the summer but still don't have names. The author of the winning submission will receive a family membership to the zoo and a behind-the-scenes tour. Click here to enter.
4. The South End could be home to another Hubway bike share station. Consultant Phil Goff is scheduled to appear at tonight's South End Landmark District Commission meeting to discuss plans for a station on the sidewalk adjecent to 465 Columbus Avenue, near West Newton Street. Abutters wishing to comment on the proposal should attend tonight's meeting in Room 805 at City Hall at 6:15 p.m.

5. Senator Sonia Chang-Diaz has announced fall office hours in 10 neighborhoods across the Second Suffolk District. South End office hours will be held at the South End Library on October 19 and 20 from 4:30 - 5:30 p.m. To contact the Senator's office call (617) 722-1673.
