Five Things: Crosswalk Repairs Scheduled Today in the South End
Five crosswalks to get new thermoplastic stripes.

2. Five crosswalks in the South End will be repainted today as part of the Mayor's "Mark It" campaign announced in April. The Transportation Department announced it will be repairing crosswalks today at 230 Shawmut Avenue, 27 Rutland Street, 1620 Washington Street, 685 Tremont Street and 115 Union Park Street. All crosswalks will be repaired using thermoplastic material.
3. Boston's tap water is "excellent" according to results from annual water quality testing conducted by the Massachusetts Water Resources Association in 2010. According to the MWRA, its water supply met every federal and state drinking water standard for 2010 and has been below the Lead Action Level for the past seven years.

“MWRA has made major improvements to the water system that will ensure the delivery of great water to your tap for decades to come,” said MWRA Executive Director Fred Laskey.
