4. Mayor Menino announced a crackdown on illegal motorized bikes on Tuesday, enacting a new homerule petition that will allow for better enforcement of the "nuisance vehicles." Operation Kickstand encourages police to tow all illegal motorized bikes, specifically those that are missing registration decals, being operating on parkland or off-street recreational paths or being operating in an illegal fashion.

“These types of loud, dangerous vehicles are allowing individuals to intimidate our residents and cause disruption in our neighborhoods," Menino said in a release. "It must stop.”
