Five Things: The South End in 1972
The South End Historical Society has posted a series of street survey photos showing the neighborhood 40 years ago.

3. Starting next month, a new art exhibit at the looks at the destruction of the West End neighborhood in the 1950s and '60s and its impact on a girl who grew up there. The exhibit, which begins Sept. 1 with programs running through Oct. 4, is the work of Brookline artist Evelyn Berde.
