3. Shreve, Crump & Low is opening an exhibition of 30 paintings by noted Contemporary Dutch Impressionist Niek van der Plas today; it will be on view through September 30. This is only the second United States exhibit of his work and includes many paintings never shown in this country before. Shreve, Crump & Low has transformed the second level of its store into a gallery specifically for the occasion - check it out!

5.  There are just a few more weeks left to get in your summer reading. Did you know you can download ebooks and audiobooks from the public library? Supported devices include iPod, iPhone, Sony Reader and the Barnes & Noble Nook. Kindle isn't supported yet, but could be within the year.
