Five Things You Need to Know Today, March 17

Evacuation Day, garden plots and green bagels.

Today is Thursday, March 17. Here are five things you need to know:

1. It's getting warmer! Today's forecast calls for mostly sunny skies and temps in the mid-50s. It gets better on Friday, with temps in the mid-60s. With three days until the first day of spring, is winter finally behind us?

2. It's Evacuation Day, which means school is not in session. It also means free parking at meters across the city (2-hour limit still applies). City Hall, community centers and libraries will be open regular hours. Trash and recycling collection will not be affected.

4. In the meantime, Finagle a Bagel is selling green bagels to bring out your inner Irish. Today only, stop by any Finagle a Bagel shop and pick up a festive baked good. Question: what's weirder, green bagels or green beer?
