Five Things You Need to Know Today, March 18
First day of Spring, copper theft and Mona Lisa speaks.

Today is Friday, March 18. Here are five things you need to know:
1. We're in for a nice one. Temperatures could hit the lower 60s today accompanied by steady breezes and gusts up to 45 mph. Morning clouds should clear to reveal a sunny start to your weekend. Slight chance of rain....but let's forget about that.
2. If the Mona Lisa could talk, what would she say? Come find out during a special centennial performance hosted by the Community Music Center of Boston. The new chamber music theatre work follows the journey of the Mona Lisa after she's stolen from the Louvre and held captive by an Italian worker. During this captivity, the Mona Lisa comes to life and in narrative and song, reveals her feelings and perspectives on the men who have posessed and obsessed over her for hundreds of years. 3. Winnie lives in a world full of adults. She's off from school for the day and has an essay to write about My Wonderful Day. What better opportunity than quietly seated unnoticed in a corner, while her pregnant mother busies herself cleaning the house of the minor television celebrity for which she is the housekeeper? When her mother's water breaks, and Winnie's left in the house alone with the TV celebrity, his mistress, his wife and his best friend, she finds a wealth of source material for her essay. The bizarre and increasingly frenetic comings and goings of adults in the weird household in which she finds herself captive fuel an essay that shocks her mother. 4. Sunday marks the first day of Spring! How will you celebrate? Or are you already dreading the humidity our city is known for?

5. Theft of copper downspouts, the bottom portion of a gutter, has been reported in the Union Park area, the neighborhood association reported. So far, two buildings appear to be missing portions of their gutters. One resident reported hearing a loud banging noise outside and found the copper portion of the gutter removed the following day. The Union Park Neighborhood Association reminds residents to file a police report if copper theft occurs in your neighborhood and report suspicious noises or persons to the police.
