Gunshot Victim Found on Harrison Ave.
Incident originated on Lenox Street, police report.

A victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg wound up on Harrison Avenue near Mass Ave. on Monday night after fleeing the area surround the Lenox Street housing project, police reported.
The victim was transported to Boston Medical Center where he was treated for non life-threatening injuries, police said. No arrests have been made.
According to a police report, the victim was walking on Lenox Street around 9:46 p.m. when he was approached by a black male with curly hair who asked if he was from Lenox. The suspect then allegedly pulled a revolver from a brown bag and shot the victim above his right knee.

The victim fled down Shawmut Avenue toward Mass Ave., eventually reaching Harrison Avenue before Emergency Medical Services arrived on the scene.
The area surrounding the Lenox Street housing project was the target of a , which resulted in over 20 arrests of alleged drug dealers. At the time, Police Commissioner Edward Davis said the sweep sent a message that drug deals and gun violence would not be tolerated in the area.
