Man Stabbed on Northampton Street Over Marijuana

A male victim was stabbed on Northampton Street in the South End on Wednesday afternoon over an argument for marijuana, according to the Boston Police Department. 

Boston Police responded to Northampton Street at about 3:05 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 2 and spoke to an EMT, who told the police that a victim had sustained non-life threatening injuries. He was taken to Brigham and Women’s Hospital for treatment.

Detectives later spoke with the victim, who said that he was in the hallway of 134 Northampton St. smoking marijunana when two individuals came down the stairs and harassed him for his blunt. When the victim refused to give it up, the two individuals pulled out knives and attempted to rob him, he told police. 

According to the victim, one of the suspects pulled out a large kitchen knife the other pulled out a smaller knife, and both told the victim to give them his money. Instead the victim said he punched one of the suspects and he was stabbed in the shoulder and the head. During the struggle, the victim told police that the handle of one of the knives broke off and the suspects then fled. A witness helped the victim call for help.

Detectives are still investigating the incident.
