MEMORIAL DAY SERVICES
Where/When: Veterans Memorial Park, Saturday, 11 a.m.
Why Go: The 65th Annual Memorial Day Service will be held at the Veterans Memorial Park in the Back Bay Fens. Pay your respects surrounded by monuments commemorating veterans who fought in World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. The Park is located near the Kelleher Rose Gardens.

FLAG CEREMONY
Where/When: , All Weekend
Why Go: Volunteers from the Massachusetts Military Heroes Fund, a nonprofit that supports families of those lost in military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, placed thousands of flags on the Boston Common on Wednesday, each representing a fallen Massachusetts service members. They'll be on display through Memorial Day as a way to remember and honor those who have given their lives.

FREE FAMILY DROP-IN: ARNOLD ARBORETUM
Where/When: Arnold Arboretum, Saturday, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Why Go: Drop by the Arnold Arboretum Visitor Center for special family activities on the last Saturday of each month, April through October. Activities include scavenger hunts, science investigations, craft activities, stories and guided walks.

RIFFS & RAPS: JAZZIN' THE GENERATIONS

Why Go: What's better than a little jazz on a Saturday morning? Head over to the library for a live musical tour through time, from the roots of jazz in blues and spirituals right up to the many sounds of jazz today. Come move mind and body with guides Arni Cheatham (saxophones), Bill Lowe (bass trombone, tuba, percussion), and Kevin Harris (keyboards) as they use jazz standards and originals to bridge the gap between generations.

MUSEUM OF FINE ARTS
