Police Make Cocaine Trafficking Bust in the South End

Police searched a car parked on Westminster Street in the South End and arrested a woman on drug charges on Monday night.

The following information was supplied by the Boston Police Department. Charges listed do not indicate convictions.

Boston police, armed with a federal search warrant, allegedly found a large bag of crack cocaine inside of a Nissan Altima parked on Westminster Street in the South End on Monday. 

Police said they had been following a suspect who was believed to be dealing drugs to an address at 4 Westminster Street in the South End around 8:15 p.m on Monday night. Officers said they saw saw the suspect park across the street from the address in a rented Nissan Altima. According to the police report, police believed a drug deal was about to take place.

Officers approached the vehicle and had to forcefully remove the one of the suspects from the driver’s seat. Another suspect in the passenger seat got out peacefully.

An ATF Agent involved in the investigation spotted a large bag of crack cocaine in a plastic bag on the floor of the passenger seat, according to the police report.

After a short investigatin, officers arrested the passenger of the car, Melody Pearson of 85 Appleton Street, Malden. Pearson was charged with trafficking cocaine.
