South End Sexual Assault, Home Invasion Suspect Arrested: Update

He was reportedly last seen running down Clarendon.

SOUTH END, MA — The Boston Police Department arrested a suspect Wednesday morning after two victims were reportedly sexually assaulted by an unknown man who broke into their apartment around 4 a.m. Tuesday.

The suspect is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court Wednesday on charges of Rape, Home Invasion, Kidnapping and Indecent Assault and Battery, according to the Boston Police Department, who identified the suspect as Ronald Brown, 52, of Boston. He was arrested around 2:45 a.m. in the South End, according to the BPD.

The incident took place in the area of Clarendon Street and Columbus Avenue, according to the police, who report they took the victim's statement at a nearby hospital around 3:45 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.

Police say the victim told them an unknown man entered her apartment through a rear window, "and, once inside, sexually assaulted both occupants of the residence."

The suspect is described as a black male possibly wearing a hooded sweatshirt and multi-colored camouflaged pants with red being the primary/dominant color. He was last seen running down Clarendon Street.

An investigation is under way, and police are seeking the public's assistance in identifying the suspect.
