SWAT Team Raid Nabs Shooting Suspect

Boston Police executed a search warrant on the suspect's apartment early Wednesday morning, recovering a loaded gun in the process.

Boston Police have a arrested a man accused of a daytime shooting last month, in the process recovering a loaded handgun believed to have been used in the shooting.

Malachi Scott, 19, of Hyde Park, was charged with assault with intent to murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and unlawful possession of a firearm, after members of Boston’s SWAT team stormed his apartment on Gordan Avenue early Wednesday morning, Boston Police announced.

Officers executed a search warrant on the apartment after an investigation pointed to Scott as the suspect in the Oct. 28 daytime shooting outside 1170 Tremont St. One person suffered a non-life threatening gunshot wound during the incident.

During the arrest at about 4:45 Wednesday morning, police confiscated a .22 caliber Ruger handgun and ammunition.

Scott is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court, likely on Thursday as courts are closed Wednesday in honor of Veterans Day.
