Upon interviewing the pharmacy employees, officers learned that CHAPPIE entered the store and asked for a prescription belonging to his girlfriend. When no such prescription could be located,CHAPPIE walked away. He then returned to the counter, now with his hand concealed in a towel insinuating he had a weapon and demanded pharmacy personnel give him narcotics. Pharmacy personnel picked up the phone to call 911, which caused CHAPPIE to flee from the store.
“I commend the swift and thorough response of the Stoneham Police officers and dispatch personnel during this crime in progress,” Chief McIntyre said. “Thanks to their hard work, a dangerous suspect was taken off the streets.”
These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
