STONEHAM, Ma. - The list of summer events at Stone Zoo could fill a Patch article but let's face it, the best/biggest day of the year is Sunday (at least in my house).

Father's Day means free admission to all the hardworking dads out there. Bring dad along with the entire family to Stone Zoo for a memorable day spent discovering all of the incredible animals at the Zoo (don't miss the two alligators). Be sure to look for all of the animal dads – stop by the white-cheeked gibbon exhibit to visit dad Kien and his offspring Jian, and a new baby born last November. There will be a zookeeper chat at the Gibbon exhibit at 11 a.m.

Stone Zoo is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and adult tickets are $19.95 (except for dad of course). And remember, there's no construction on Pond Street on weekends.

About those other events ... it starts with the 15th annual A Wild Affair on Saturday, June 22. It's a day to sample offerings from some of Greater Boston’s best restaurants and caterers, enjoy live entertainment, and bid on special items at silent and live auctions. The 21+ event opens at 5:30 p.m. There are three events in July, starting with Red, White & Zoo! on July 6. On July 20 it's Meet the Zookeepers Day in celebration of National Zookeeper Appreciation Week. And a busy month ends with Sunset Sips, an after-hours 21+ event on July 27. Tickets for these events are available on the zoo website.

But it all starts Sunday with Father's Day.
