Coronavirus In Stoneham: Dozens Of Active Cases

The case count in Stoneham is nearing 200, according to the latest figures from local health officials.

STONEHAM, MA — There are dozens of active coronavirus cases in Stoneham, as the overall number of positive cases continues to rise, according to the latest figures from the health department. There were 188 total coronavirus cases as of Tuesday, April 21. Of those, 62 are active.

Stoneham will enroll April 30 in a new Department of Public Health program that seeks to accurately trace all primary contacts of positive coronavirus patients. Residents can sign up for State Alerts and updates by texting COVIDMA to 888-777.

On Saturday, April 25, AFC Urgent Care will hold a drive-thru testing clinic from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for members and residents of Stoneham and the surrounding communities who qualify for coronavirus testing.

In order to qualify, patients will need to be pre-screened by an AFC provider via a
telemedicine urgent care visit. Upon completion of the telehealth screening and determination of
qualification for testing, AFC Urgent Care will send a personalized doctor's order to that specific
patient to be tested on Saturday.

If a prospective patient does not bring an AFC doctor's note to the drive-thru testing clinic, that patient will not be eligible for testing.
