I-93 Debris Caused At Least 14 Flat Tires This Morning

STONEHAM, MA — If you drove on I-93 in Stoneham this morning, you may want to check your tires. More than a dozen cars got flat tires after hitting what police said was metal debris in the northbound lanes.

Police said 14 cars got flats around 5 a.m. It caused a number of accidents that closed at least one lane near Exit 35.

The debris was removed and cars eventually towed away. The morning commute slogged on as usual.

No injuries were reported.
